Name: Syrianna Brigadona
Place of Origin: Scandinavien
Age: 52 as vampire
Sexe: Female
Personality: Syrianna is a tempered and passionate person, but she is quite capable of keeping quiet when it is inappropriate to display her feelings. She does not easily put her trust in someone, but she longs for feeling a bond with someone. Splitted between her own feelings towards others she can come across as rather hard, but when she befriends someone they might discover that she is a warm and giving person. In addition to that she is quite playful, and likes to pull pranks or confuse persons.
Appearence: Even though her eyes are bright blue, her skin is light brown and her hair, that reaches the middle of her back, is black with soft curls. On her upper left arm is a burned mark, made while she was still human and symbolising her gypsy status. Her height is about 175 and she is slender without being skinny. Her clothing is sometimes gypsy-style, with long skirts and a scarf wrapped around her head, and at other times classical dresses from the 50’ties – early 60’ties. This is due to her love for her heritage, but also an expression that she can now wear the clothes of the society she was a youth in, without being restrained by society. You will seldom see her in pants unless she needs to blend in somewhere.
History: Born as the child of gypsies, Syrianna was an outcast from society from her very first breath. The culture of the gypsies was one of travelling and hence Syrianna never belonged in any particular place except among her extended family. They travelled all over Scandinavia, making a home wherever they were allowed to stay for a while and moving on when the hostility towards them became too great.
As a child Syrianna never gave much thought to her way of life, but as she grew a bit older she realised how hard it was for her family to make a living. Wherever they went they were dependent on people’s generosity, but it was often found lacking. Money were hard to earn when nobody would hire a gypsy for normal jobs, and they relied on selling hand-made goods on markets and performing services to those willing to pay.
Syrianna was barely a teenager when she began to work to help her family, but despite the hardness of their lifestyle, she was happy among the gypsies and loved the closeness of the family and the creativity that they held.
Trained by her mother Syrianna became an expert in the Flamenco, and it was at a night of performing this dance for an audience that she caught the attention of a vampire. The dance had been intense and when she stopped the blood was pumping fast through her veins. A middle-aged man grappled her as she had finished, thinking he could get his way with the young gypsy woman, but Syrianna chose to place a knee in his crotch instead.
After this she fled from the audience to get some fresh air, knowing that her actions would cause hostility among the citizens of the town, and force her family to move again. Thus it was with a feeling of despair that she encountered the vampire Mette-Line. Syrianna barely noticed that she got grappled again, this time by a much stronger being, and pulled in to the shadow. While her life got sucked out of her she was still filled with the adrenalin and intensity of dancing the flamenco, mixed with the feeling of despair and anger with how people treated her and her family.
When the blood from Mette-Lines mouth began running in to Syrianna she accepted without any thought to what she was doing. Her mind was somewhere else and only primal instincts were working at that very minute.
Regaining her senses Syrianna opened her now bright blue eyes, as compared to her normal brown, and looked up at a blond girl with bright blue eyes. The girl was sitting on the ground holding Syriannas head, while drying a few red drops away from her face. “Mette-Line,” she said, a name that printed itself deeply in to Syrianna’s mind. “I think you will need a place to sleep safely today; you better come with me,” was the only other words spoken that night.
Waking up the next night Mette-Line bathed Syrianna and cleaned her up. The craving she experienced was incomparable to anything else and Syrianna was not late to follow her maker’s guidance. Society had not been good to her, so she had little regrets as to feed upon its members.
Years of adapting to her new life followed. Syrianna suddenly had strength she had not had before and thus a power she never thought she would have. Mette-Line was her teacher and companion, but the two ladies often ended up discussing. Syrianna had a burning desire to keep close to her gypsy family, but Mette-Line disagreed on this and as years passed the quarrels about it grew in proportion.
Mette-Line herself had another purpose to follow. She only fed on men, in any age and size and there was one place in particular where she kept coming back to feed. This eventually became Mette-Line’s doom, since she was killed by men from this very town; sons whose fathers she had killed under her raidings.
Syrianna escaped the situation and sought out her family after nearly 40 years as a vampire. While she had lived the sweet life of immortality she had little realised that her family was growing older and wearier for each day. Having just lost her maker and lover Mette-Line, she had dreamed of finding companionship among her family again. Only a few of those she had known were left by now though, and Syrianna was ripped out of her dream world. She had only remembered the good things, but the hardness of her old life revealed itself to her again.
For a while she lingered near the rest of her family, but on a night of severe hunger she ended up feeding on her own cousin. In deep shame she fled away from the gypsies again, now knowing the danger of clinging to your human life. Even if she had always been an outcast, she was a different outcast now. Her old life had teached her to stick to her own kind, and she realised now that she had to do exactly that, so she have recently sought out London.
